About Taking B(l)ack Pride:

We seek to empower the BIPOC transgender, queer and gender diverse communities to take charge of the ways we own our joy, grief, healing, anger, celebration, pride, expression of culture and community. We create opportunities for our community to collectively and intimately take part in celebration of the complexities of BIPOC QT experiences and culture.

Celebrate Les(bi)an Queer-Story Month with us! We will have a viewing party on Friday, March 11, at 7pm. We’ll have a little time for some intros and a break after a couple films to chat with each other.

If you cannot make the viewing party, you can still enjoy the films – they will be available to stream March 10-18th throughout the U.S. You will have 72 hours to finish a film once you have started it (including if you start on the last day!).

This is a sliding scale event, so you get to choose your price! If you are able to pay a higher amount, this helps cover the cost of offering lower priced tickets.

Additionally, 15% of proceeds from this program will go to TWOC Solidarity Network! A series of shorts showcasing the vast spectrums of lesbian love and identity.

Seattle Lesbian Literature Meetup Book Club

Seattle Lesbian Literature Meetup is a long-running book club through Meet-up that reads books for/by/about queer women. Chat about books while meeting fellow queer ladies who like to read and socialize. You can jump in and join anytime!

Meeting Structure: The meetings are structured to discuss the books and get to know each other. We start with introductions, something we thought about the book (longer than a paragraph, shorter than a page), then we launch into discussion. We discuss the book and the issues discussed in the book for about an hour and a half. Then we end with our names again, last thoughts on the book and any activities/events/announcements people want to share with the group.

You are welcome to attend the meeting if you haven’t read the book or haven’t finished the book, especially if you’re trying to determine if it’s the right fit for you. We have on average about 20 women at every book club, often more, sometimes less.
