Model Minority: An All-Asian Comedy Show


MODEL MINORITY is a standup comedy showcase featuring local comics of the Asian diaspora. Asians are the most underrepresented in comedy which is a fact you will forget about for this one night.

MODEL MINORITY is produced by Stephanie Nam, a standup comedian and artist. She produces shows under NAM NAM Productions including MEN AREN’T FUNNY, JUST A PHASE, and MODEL MINORITY that highlight underrepresented identities in comedy and THE QUEER AGENDA, a live dating show.

Stephanie is known for her dry humor and wet pussy. She is a capricorn sun, scorpio moon, and lesbian stereotype rising. She lives with her cat in Seattle. Stephanie’s standup has been described as “unexpectedly funny” and “awkwardly charming” and “something I’ll remember for the rest of my life” and “the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.”

This is a hate free space. Racism, sexism, homophobia, classism, transphobia, ableism, colorism, fatphobia, xenophobia, etc. will not be tolerated and all performers agree to refrain from such material.

Seattle Queer Film Festival

WITNESS QUEER MAGIC October 13-23 at the 27th annual Seattle Queer Film Festival.

This year’s hybrid festival features a diverse slate of queer cinema from across the globe, totaling 59 film programs comprised of 150 films. 27 countries are represented, including Poland, Germany, Canada, Switzerland, Australia, Brazil, Tunisia, Taiwan, Lebanon, Nigeria, India, Iran, China, Norway, and Chile.

We have something for everyone in-person and online:
films, meetups, parties, live podcasts, and even an art gallery show!

We have in-person screenings at theaters throughout Seattle every day October 13-23! Most films are also available virtually (unless otherwise noted) in all of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska October 13-23. All virtual films are captioned/subtitled.

¡AzuQar! is a dance night created for the queer community with the goal of being a safe space where the music we play does not degrade LGBTQ, women, POC, or other minority communities. We are a safe, positive, loving space to celebrate life.
